University of Florida Credit Cards &  Debts Discussion

Credit Cards, Debts Discussion

Description

From the book:
Activity 1: Find a credit card bill (remove all identifying information) that contains an interest charge. Show what the fees and charges would be for the bill using the Average Daily Balance Method, the Unpaid Balance Method, and the Previous Balance Method.
Activity 2: Research to find a credit card that you think would be the best choice for someone who charges regularly, but pays off the bill every month. Find another credit card that you think would be the best choice for someone who makes minimum payments rather than paying off their charges each month. Write an explanation for each of your choices

1. Should there be a minimum age limit for obtaining a credit card if we respect all people?

2. If Jane is carrying $10,000 in debt on one credit card, should she be allowed to get another credit card?

3. If Jane declares bankruptcy all her debts are “written off” (that means she doesn’t have to pay).  Is that fair? Consider the value of Respect in your response.

4. How could the value of Respect have helped our country to avoid debt?
