Describe a time when understanding someone else’s perspective helped you understand them better.I worked as a school nurse in Brooklyn Park and love it. The school was a transition center and we had a lot of kids with behavioral issues. A few teachers I felt put certain student of color in a different category as unteachable and they are not goingto change, or plainly that they are thugs. This disheartened me, I felt all student werehere to learn, they were 18-21 year olds so they made the decision to come to schoolwhen they did not have to and they were here to learn. I went into the classrooms and got to know all my students and about their families. Everybody learns better when they know you are taking the time to learn about them. I felt it also helped them build trust in me, so that if they have medical needs that they felt comfortable coming to me. A good amount of them did not trust adults or had a lack of compassionate adults in their life. I was their advocate and in that I felt I got to understand them better. My heart was there in helping disadvantaged youth, and hope I find some volunteer service as a nurse doing more of tha
