The study I chose is a single group quasi-experimental design that seeks to answer the question, “Do nurses retain education and knowledge about evidence-based practices when they are assessed for retention prior to receiving education, immediately after receiving education, and one year later?” Cosme, Milner, and Wonder (2018) A total of 62 junior-year nursing students from a single northeastern college participated in the study. The Evidence-Based Practice Knowledge Assessment in Nursing was used as a data source (EKAN). The study was only completed by 57 students. According to inferential statistics, after one year, the students’ education and knowledge would be maintained, allowing the institution to establish a standard. According to the data, the majority of students advanced and gained knowledge during the one-year evaluation period (Cosme et al., 2018). The dependent variable was compliance with education and assessment, while the independent variable was exposure to extra education relevant to evidence-based practice knowledge that met the textbook’s standards (Gray, Grove, & Sutherland, 2017).
