COM 325 Capella University Communication Conflict Discussion

Question Description
(Attached chap ter 6 and 8)

The conflict climate is the psychological atmosphere the individuals perceive. This climate can be harmful or nurturing. Share an example of a situation in which abuse of power, competition, distrust, or defensive behavior created a harmful climate in a conflict situation. Identify the behaviors that created this environment. What behaviors would change this into a nurturing climate?

Your initial response should be 250 – 300 words

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.

A formal role that is important is a Charge Nurse role. This role is what can help maintain the flow and functioning of the floor. Charge nurses are a resources for all the nurses and tech that are on the unit.

“The Charge Nurse is responsible for the smooth and efficient patient flow within the clinic. Delegates assignments and provides supervision for the support staff in accordance with their level of training and the patient’s acuity. Works, in cooperation with medical providers to insure the quality of patient care” (Oroville. (2022). A charge nurse provides staff guidance, supports challenging situations, and implements urgent policies and procedures. Charge nurses also monitor patients, provide education, and jump in where needed.

“Charge nurses who hold at least a BSN degree and have passed the NCLEX-RN. RNs with higher degrees, such as an MSN degree, may stand out more to employers, since this position requires a higher amount of knowledge and responsibility” (RegisteredNursing.org. (2022, March 8). Having a BSN or MSN is preferred because of the higher knowledge and more experience which can help a nurse to be stronger in a leadership role.

I think a Communicative leadership style would be best for a charge nurse role because without communication, the floor will not function as it should. Communication can also help make a stronger relationship between you and tour nurses and techs that you over see. Being a strong charge nurse can make a floor operate to it’s fullest potential and it gives the nurses extra support and someone to rely on! I know I use my charge nurse as a resource for whatever I need.

LopesWrite Policy

For assignments that need to be submitted to LopesWrite, please be sure you have received your report and Similarity Index (SI) percentage BEFORE you do a “final submit” to me.
Once you have received your report, please review it. This report will show you grammatical, punctuation, and spelling errors that can easily be fixed. Take the extra few minutes to review instead of getting counted off for these mistakes.
Review your similarities. Did you forget to cite something? Did you not paraphrase well enough? Is your paper made up of someone else’s thoughts more than your own?
Visit the Writing Center in the Student Success Center, under the Resources tab in LoudCloud for tips on improving your paper and SI score.
