Power and authority are considered important components in establishing and enforcing social norms and maintaining social control. Consider the three types of authority, as follows:

• Traditional
• Rational–legal
• Charismatic

Complete the following:

• Which type of authority do you believe wields the most power?
• Explain your opinion on whether you think the concepts of power and influence are one and the same thing.
