Art Essay

Women have always served an important role in the history of art. Although often in contradictory ways, they have emerged as artists, subjects and objects.  Using 4-6 different artworks from this course, please write an essay that explores the changing and diverse role of women in the arts. Please consider the ways women have been portrayed (style and content) throughout the ages.  The strongest essays will have a central argument that is backed up with a range of visual evidence, employs the terminology from the course and demonstrates a complex and nuanced understanding of the issue.  Answer should be 2-4 pages, 1.5 line spacing, 12 point font, Times New Roman, 1-inch margins. All answers should be in full sentence, paragraph form and well edited.  No citations or outside sources are required or necessary.   I just uploaded one powerpoint.
