You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.
Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.
Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
Nurses have the ability to influence the people around them. Regardless of their roles, they have the leadership skills to inspire and motivate others to achieve their goals. They can also use their leadership skills to improve the health and well-being of patients (Whitney, 2018). As a leader, nurses must master the art of balancing their own needs with the needs of their patients and team members. They must also be able to think outside the box to solve problems as well as empathize with others and understand their feelings. Hence the roles of nurses are important whether in leadership or not.
The formal role of a nurse manager comes with leading and managing a team of nurses. They are responsible for ensuring that the nurses are providing quality patient care and that they are meeting all of the required standards (Warshawsky & Cramer, 2019). The nurse manager role requires a bachelor’s degree in nursing and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a leadership role. The nurse manager must have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. They must also have strong leadership traits, style, and qualities. The nurse manager must be able to motivate their team and provide them with guidance and direction (Warshawsky & Cramer, 2019). Moreover, dealing with difficult situations and keeping the team focused on their goals is among their qualities as well as being abreast with excellent communication skills so that they can effectively communicate with their team members. Finally, the nurse manager must be able to manage resources efficiently to ensure that the nurses are able to provide the best possible patient care.
In general, the nurse manager role requires a lot of leadership skills, organizational skills, and motivational abilities. The job description must also require handling of difficult situations effectively and keep the team focused on their goals and strong leadership qualities.
