Suicide deaths for youth age 18 and younger has more than doubled between the years of 2005-2015. On March 12, 2019 the Kansas State Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt recommendations from the Kansas School Mental Health Advisory Council that will strengthen supports to schools in providing suicide awareness and prevention education.
