1.  Use Command Line to export User (ie. Harry) to C:LAB454Harry.dmp

 

2.  Use Interactive Command Line to export Movie table to C:LAB454Movie.dmp

 

3.  Use either Command Line or Interactive Command Line to export full database to C:LAB454Full.dmp

How long does it take?

How big is the dmp file?

 

4.  Insert 2 new movies into your movies table – “Desperate Housewives” and “’Everybody Loves Raymond’”.

 

5.  How many rows in each of Harry’s table?

 

6.  Drop Movie table and truncate Employee table.

 

7.  Use Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) or SQL*PLUS  to verify Movie table is gone and employee table is empty.

 

8.  Use Import to restore the Movie table.

 

9.  Lisa, another DBA, left the company to pursue better opportunities.  She created an export file called Lisa.dmp.  You (Harry) need to restore Employee table from Lisa.dmp.

 

10. How many rows in each of Harry’s table?

 

11. Log on SYSTEM to create an export directory called export_dumps pointing to C:LAB454Export and then give your ID (ie. Harry) Read/Write privileges on this directory.

 

12. Use DataPump in DOS to export Store table.

 

13.  Invoke OEM and log on as Harry and then use DataPump to export Employee table to a file called “NewEmpoloyee.dmp”.   Please show the job log – see example below.  (2 points)

 

 

14.  Continue to use OEM DataPump to import Location table from Lisa.dmp.   Did job fail or succeed?  Why?
