Short Essay 3 (Short Fiction) For this assignment, respond to one of the following prompts. Your response must address the prompt directly, and provide evidence for your analysis from the texts. You are to quote the texts directly and analyze those quotations fully in your response.   1. One of the methods we used to analyze fiction is The Iceberg Method. For this prompt, explain what this method means, and demonstrate how we can see it operating in Girl and Currents.   2. We have spent much time reading the stories in terms of the six elements of fiction. For this prompt, you are to work with one element in two different stories. Using any two stories of your choosing, demonstrate how setting contributes to the theme.   3. Many authors use their fiction to address issues of social justice. For this prompt, identify any two elements of fiction that Toni Morrison uses to address racism in America. This is what is required : Short Essays: For each of the four units in this course, you will provide a short essay based on a prompt. There will be multiple prompts for each essay, but you only need to answer one. You are expected to answer the prompt fully, explaining your answers in detail, with textual analysis (quoting from the texts directly). You will be graded only on your ability to answer the prompt and your ability to understand and analyze the literature (and not for your composition style, editing, etc.).
