Adam is playing football in his garden with his son Bobby. Adam kicks the ball harder than he intended and it hits one of Adam’s flowerpots, breaking it. The ball rebounds off the pot over the fence into his neighbour Claire’s garden. The ball hits Claire’s greenhouse and breaks two panes of glass.

Angry at the damage to her greenhouse, the next day Claire used a knife to burst Adam’s football. When Adam complained, Claire said “that way you can’t smash any more of my property”.
