Review of the Academic Literature

4000 word research proposal, should contain: A proposed research question written as a question (rather than a statement); A section dedicated to the background and context of your question (as a guide approximately 500 words); A brief review of the academic literature (as a guide approximately 1,500-2,000 words); An explanation of how you would approach answering the question, the methods you would use and why, as well as any limitations you foresee in this approach (as a guide, approximately 1,500-2,000 words). 2000 word annotated bibliography, should contain: References to all the academic literature you have referred to in your review of the literature, properly cited. Brief annotations explaining how each source assisted you in developing your analysis/conclusions in the literature review. You may choose to write this for each source individually or instead as a commentary at the end of your bibliography. [NB the word count of 2,000 words does not include the bibliographic references] •The font is to be Times New Roman throughout. •The page setup is to be for A4 size paper, with top and bottom margins of 1” (2.54 cm), and left and right margins of 1.25” (3.17cm). •For the main text the font size is to be no smaller than 12-point with normal character spacing and double line spacing. •One blank line is to be left between paragraphs, endnotes, before and after headings and subheadings. •Referencing – OSCOLA (The Oxford Standard for the Citation of Legal Authorities)
