• Cultural Evolution Shifts the Source of Happiness from Religion to Subjective Freedom: This article is about how studies have shown that happiness is associated with two psychologically distinct states of mind. One is the religious faith someone has and subjective freedom or a feeling of one’s control over their own life. The studies mentioned in this article show that individual happiness leans more towards their individual freedom than it does someone’s religion.
• Religiosity and Happiness: A Comparison of the Levels Between the Religious and the Nonreligious: Using two separate measures of happiness this study compares levels of happiness in people regarding their religion and those who are nonreligious. One study at Oxford used a Happiness Questionnaire and the Subjective Happiness Scale.
