SOC 381 CUNY Queens College Comparison of Kenya and Bangladesh Discussion

Description.

I need guidance on answering questions related to making a comparison of Kenya as a non- CEDAW OP state party and Bangladesh as a CEDAW OP state party. I also have to input information regarding these states in the table attached. This is for a blog assignment.

SOC 381 Senior Seminar – CEDAW and the Rights of Women
Professor Barbara R. Walters
Blog 1 Assignment
For Blog 1, collect and organize data for a comparative case study project on two
nation-states, one CEDAW OP State Party and one non CEDAW OP State Party. The
data will provide the foundation for the Final Research Paper. The goal is to select
countries carefully to permit a meaningful comparative analysis based on nation-states’
endogenous characteristics that might explain differences in their level of commitment
to CEDAW. Being a CEDAW OP State Party is used as a critical indicator and
mobilizer of higher commitment levels.
Please study the following page, which contains a list of websites that makes the data
collection task a bit easier. Choose the nation-states carefully based on the readings up
to and including Week #5. The folder contains a list of suggested pairs. For each
subsequent week, the assignments and discussion topics focus on essential data
points—select other data points based on making country comparisons meaningful.
Please take advantage of the Blog 1 Discussion Forum to ask questions or exchange
ideas regarding the blog and final paper’s pivotal decisions.
Below are suggestions for possible topics and data collection. See the table on and Tool
